Agent Terms and Conditions

The terms that govern your engagement as a Pynpoint field agent.

Effective 25 October 2026

About these terms

These terms govern your engagement as a field agent with Pynpoint Nig Ltd ("Pynpoint", "we", "us"), a company incorporated in Nigeria with registration number RC 9791266 and registered office at 151 Lola Holloway Street, Omole Phase 1, Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria.

Please read them before you register. By completing registration you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted them. We record the date and the version you accepted.

In these terms, the "Agent App" means the Pynpoint application you use to receive, carry out and submit jobs.

1. What this relationship is, and what it is not

You are engaged as an independent contractor. These terms do not create a contract of employment, a partnership, a joint venture, or an agency relationship beyond what is set out here.

  • You are not an employee of Pynpoint and you are not entitled to salary, pension, leave, severance or any employment benefit.
  • You decide when you make yourself available and which jobs you accept. We do not guarantee that any work will be offered to you, and we are not obliged to offer you a minimum number of jobs.
  • You are free to work for other organisations, including other verification companies, provided you do not do so in a way that compromises the confidentiality obligations in section 10 or creates a conflict of interest on a job you have accepted.
  • You are responsible for your own tax affairs, subject to section 9.

You must not describe yourself as an employee of Pynpoint, hold yourself out as having authority to bind Pynpoint, or enter into any commitment on our behalf.

2. Who can register

To register as a Pynpoint field agent you must:

  • be at least 18 years old;
  • be legally entitled to work in Nigeria;
  • hold a valid government-issued identity document of a type we accept;
  • hold a bank account in your own name, matching the name on your identity document;
  • provide a guarantor who is willing to be contacted by us and to vouch for you;
  • have a smartphone with a working camera, location services and internet access; and
  • reside in an area where we currently operate.

3. Registration, verification and activation

Registering does not make you an active agent. Before you can receive work we will:

  • confirm your identity against the document you submit, including comparing it to a photograph of you taken during registration;
  • verify your own home address, using the same process we use for our clients' customers;
  • confirm that the name registered to your bank account matches your identity records;
  • contact your nominated guarantor once, to confirm that they are willing to stand for you; and
  • require you to complete our training before your first job.

We may decline an application, or decline to activate an account, at our discretion and without giving reasons. If your guarantor declines, we will tell you and you may nominate someone else.

You must tell us without delay if any of the information you gave us changes, in particular your home address, your bank account, your telephone number, or your identity documents.

4. How work is offered

Jobs are offered to agents based on the area in which you have told us you are located. When a job is offered to you, you will be shown the location, the type of verification required, and the amount payable for it before you decide.

  • You may accept or decline any job. Declining a job has no consequence.
  • Once you accept a job you are expected to complete it within the time indicated. If you accept a job and do not act on it, we may withdraw it and offer it to another agent, and repeated failure to complete accepted jobs may affect the work you are offered.
  • You must carry out personally every job you accept. You must not pass a job to another person, whether or not that person is also a Pynpoint agent, and you must not allow anyone else to use your account.
  • If you cannot complete a job, for any reason, including that the address cannot be found or the premises is inaccessible, report that honestly through the Agent App. A job you could not complete, reported accurately, is a useful result and is not held against you.

5. How you must conduct a visit

This section is the most important part of these terms. The value of what Pynpoint sells depends entirely on whether the people we send behave properly, and a breach of this section is grounds for immediate termination.

Identifying yourself:

  • Introduce yourself, state that you are attending on behalf of Pynpoint, and show your Pynpoint agent identification if asked.
  • Tell the person which organisation requested the verification, if they ask.
  • Ask only what is necessary to establish whether the person lives or operates at that address.
  • If a person declines to speak to you, accept that and record it. Do not press them, and do not return repeatedly.

Photographs:

  • All photographs must be taken inside the Agent App, at the location, at the time of your visit. Photographs cannot be uploaded from your phone's gallery and any attempt to do so will be rejected.
  • Photograph the exterior of the property only. Never photograph the inside of a person's home.
  • Do not photograph people. If a person is unavoidably in the frame, retake the photograph.
  • For a business verification, photograph only what your training permits, and only with the knowledge of the person you are speaking to.

Contact with the customer: You will never be given the telephone number of the person whose address you are verifying, and you must not obtain it by any other means. If contact with that person is necessary, a Pynpoint coordinator will place the call and connect you. You must not ask a neighbour, security officer or anyone else for the customer's telephone number.

Honesty: You must not, in any circumstances:

  • submit a verification for an address you did not attend;
  • use any application, setting or device that misrepresents your location;
  • submit a photograph taken anywhere other than at the address, or on a different occasion;
  • record an observation, a confirmation or a name that was not actually given to you;
  • arrange with the person being verified, or with anyone else, to present a false result; or
  • accept money, a gift or any other benefit from a person being verified, or from anyone connected to them.

If a person offers you money or anything else to record a particular outcome, decline it and report it to your coordinator. Reporting an attempted inducement will never count against you.

Your safety: Do not enter any premises where you feel unsafe, and do not enter a dwelling at all. Do not attempt a visit in circumstances that put you at risk. If a visit cannot be completed safely, abandon it and report it. No verification is worth your safety, and we will not question that judgement.

6. Your notes

Every submission requires your written observations. These form part of the report we deliver to our client, and a submission with empty, incomplete or copied notes will be rejected.

  • Complete every field the Agent App asks for, and answer it for the visit in front of you.
  • Write your own observations. Do not copy notes between jobs, and do not reuse wording from a previous visit.
  • Record only what you actually saw or were actually told. Do not record anything you assumed, inferred or were told second-hand without saying so.
  • Where you are not certain of something, say so. A note that records uncertainty honestly is worth more to us than one that sounds confident and turns out to be wrong.

Your training sets out what to look for and how to record it. Those instructions are confidential to Pynpoint and are covered by section 10.

7. Review and rating

Every submission is reviewed by a Pynpoint quality assurance reviewer before any report is released to a client and before you are paid.

  • If a submission is accepted, the amount payable for it becomes available in your balance.
  • If a submission is rejected, you will be told why. Depending on the reason, you may be asked to attend again, in which case you are not paid twice for the same address.
  • Each submission is rated. Your ratings accumulate and affect the work you are offered.
  • You may ask for the reasons behind a rating, and you may contest it. Tell your coordinator, and a second reviewer will look at it.

8. Payment

  • You are paid per address, and the amount for each job is shown to you before you accept it.
  • Rates vary by area, and we may change the rate for an area at any time. A change never affects a job you have already accepted.
  • An amount is earned when your submission passes review, not when you submit it.
  • Once a submission passes review, the amount becomes available in your balance and is paid to your registered bank account within 12 hours.
  • Payment is made only to the bank account registered in your own name. We will not pay into an account in anyone else's name, in any circumstances.
  • You bear your own costs, your phone, your data, and your transport. These are not reimbursed and are already reflected in the rate.

Where a submission is later found to have been falsified, any amount paid for it is repayable to us and may be deducted from your balance.

9. Tax

As an independent contractor you are responsible for your own tax. Where Nigerian tax law requires us to deduct tax at source from payments made to you, we will do so, remit it to the relevant authority, and provide you with the corresponding record for your own filing. You must provide a Tax Identification Number where we are required to obtain one.

10. Confidentiality and data protection

In the course of your work you will be given personal information about other people. It is not yours, and it is not for any purpose other than the job in front of you.

  • Do not disclose any address, name or detail from a job to anyone outside Pynpoint.
  • Do not keep, copy, photograph or screenshot any job information on your own device or anywhere else, beyond what the Agent App itself stores.
  • Do not use information from a job to contact, locate, follow or approach a person for any purpose unconnected with the verification.
  • Do not post anything about a job, a customer or an address on social media.
  • Do not discuss who requested a verification with anyone other than the person at the address, where they ask.

You must handle all personal data in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and with the training and instructions we give you. These obligations continue after your engagement ends.

Our Privacy Policy explains what we hold about you, why, and what rights you have.

11. The Agent App and your account

  • Your login is personal to you. Keep it confidential and tell us immediately if you think someone else has used it.
  • Do not attempt to modify, reverse engineer, automate or interfere with the Agent App.
  • While you are carrying out an accepted job, the Agent App records your position and the accuracy of the reading at arrival and at each photograph. This is what allows the report to be relied upon. It does not record your location at any other time.
  • Where you have no network connection, the Agent App will hold your completed submission on your device until it can be sent. You must submit it as soon as you have a connection, and in any event the same day. A submission held on your device contains another person's personal information and must not sit there longer than necessary.
  • Do not take a screenshot of, photograph, copy, forward or back up any job information held on your device, and do not store job information anywhere other than in the Agent App.
  • Keep your device locked with a passcode, PIN or biometric lock for as long as you hold a Pynpoint account. If your device is lost or stolen, tell us immediately so that your account can be suspended.

12. Ownership of what you produce

The photographs you take and the observations you record in the course of a job are produced for Pynpoint and on Pynpoint's instruction. All rights in them, including copyright, belong to Pynpoint, and you assign those rights to us. You may not reuse, publish or sell them.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop working with us at any time, and you may ask us to close your account. Any amount already earned and approved remains payable to you.

We may suspend or terminate your engagement at any time. We will usually tell you why, and where the reason is something you can put right we will say so. We will terminate immediately, and may report the matter to the appropriate authority, where we find that you have:

  • submitted a verification for an address you did not attend, or falsified location, photographs or observations in any way;
  • allowed another person to use your account or carry out a job in your name;
  • accepted an inducement from a person being verified or anyone connected to them;
  • misused personal information obtained through a job; or
  • behaved in a way that put a member of the public at risk or brought Pynpoint into disrepute.

Sections 9, 10, 12 and 16 survive termination.

14. Liability

We are not liable to you for loss of earnings, loss of opportunity, or any indirect loss arising from the suspension or termination of your engagement, from a job being withdrawn or reassigned, or from the Agent App being unavailable.

You are responsible for your own acts and omissions while carrying out a job, and you will indemnify us against any claim arising from your breach of section 5, section 10 or section 12.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Nigerian law.

15. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. Where we do, we will notify you through the Agent App and you will be asked to accept the new version. If you do not accept it, you will not be able to receive further jobs, and any amount already earned and approved remains payable to you.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We will try to resolve any dispute with you directly and in good faith. Where that is not possible, the courts of Lagos State shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

17. Contact

Your coordinator is your first point of contact for anything to do with a job. For anything else, including a complaint about how you have been treated or a question about your data, contact us at [email protected] or write to Pynpoint Nig Ltd, 151 Lola Holloway Street, Omole Phase 1, Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria.
